Sharp has released their answer to the Samsung S8 and the upcoming Note 8 and of course the rumoured Apple iPhone 8. All of these of course have no bezel, or at least something very close to it. However, what many of them do have is a huge, huge price. Perhaps then, it a surprise that Sharp have bucked the trend, but thankfully not in the cool stakes.
The Aquos S2 from Sharp, like the Samsung and the potentially bezel free Apple iPhone, also sports no bezel. It also sports a display that encompasses most of the face of the phone too. Again, much like we have seen from Samsung and Apple. However, despite going down that now familiar design and technology route, Sharp have really bucked the trend with their pricing.
It has been announced that the Sharp Aquos S2 will only be 2499 Yuan, which is currently around $372 USD or £286. Which is easily half that of the Samsung S8. However, caution on getting overly excited by these conversions, as we are comparing a direct price conversion and by the time they reach UK/US shores a whole bunch of shipping, legal, FCC, Tax and more will need to be applied. However, having said that, the Aquos S2, looks to be competing with the likes of OnePlus. Given the looks of the Aquos S2, and it looks fabulous and has some pretty nice specifications too, then perhaps Sharp could be onto a winner.
