Samsung 2017 MU series of TV’s in the UK and possibly beyond, are experiencing a huge issue after this weeks update. Some are ‘Bricking’ after the update. Resulting in the TV not functioning at all.
Today, Samsung made the following announcement:
“Samsung has just released a statement on the matter: “Samsung is aware of a small number of TVs in the UK (less than 200) affected by a firmware update to 2017 MU Series TVs on 17th August. Once this issue was identified, the update was switched off and we’re now working with each customer to resolve the issue. Any customers affected are encouraged to get in touch with Samsung directly (0330 7267864). We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused to our customers.”
Even though there is around 200 sets so far affected, it could easily be far more and it’s hard to say that it’s just the UK. Our suggestion so far is if you own an MU series TV from Samsung, turn off auto update and we will keep an eye on what’s happening. We will update you here.
