Samsung have been sending out invites (where is mine?) to the media for the launch of the much awaited and previously maligned Samsung Note, not so surprisingly called the Samsung Note 8. There’s plenty of information and leaked images of the new Note 8 online, and the design itself is like a fatter, taller Samsung S8+ but with a pen and more cameras. Having said that, all this still remains speculation and some of it rumour, no matter how well sourced, till Samsung themselves turn around and go ‘Ta da!’. We won’t have to wait that long, with the Keynote on the 23rd August 2017, and a possible release date for September 2017 in some countries and the ROW in October 2017.
There’s been a lot of speculation as regards the price. Rumours suggest that this will be the first $1000 phone, with a possible RRP of $1100 being touted. Sources in the UK are suggesting pricing varying around £780.
Features are very similar with the Samsung S8+, except with upgraded and twin cameras on the back, larger display and the S-Pen.
It will be interesting to see how the Samsung Note 8 is received, given the bad press and the complete, literal meltdown of the device over the last couple of years.
