Google and an great many volunteers, took photos of the US eclipse that was just over a week ago now – how time fly’s. They’ve taken over 35,000 images and put them together in a movie, which is titled ‘Eclipse Megamovie v0.5’ (is this the beta?). It’s an interesting experiment and the movie itself albeit short, does show what a huge tech giant and several thousand volunteers can do with such events. In many ways, it’s a great way of cataloguing such events and more in the future, or so you would think. Googles effort is perhaps not the best show case for that.
You can watch it below, but before you get too excited, it is very underwhelming and if this is the best of thousands of photos, then I think they need to think again.
