Asus Windows Mixed Reality Headset

Looking every bit the VR/AR device of from the future. Asus have lifted the veil from the Asus Windows Mixed Reality Headset at IFA in Germany.

The device will give a 3k/90HZ resolution, with no need for external tracking like the Vice or Oculus, but uses what’s called Inside-Out tracking. Good for freeing up space, time, cost and a lot more. As to it’s accuracy it remains to be seen. The device should be very comfortable only weighing in at 400g. Asus also noted that the device headband uses a special anti bacterial material, so when you share the device with others, sweat and other nasties won’t be wiped all over your own face when you share it around.

The cost of the HMD is £415, $535USD. However, even though the device is usually pictured with the controllers, these are not included in that price and no mention of bundles have been announced.
